Get Started Guide for Parents

Tutoring with WeTutor is easy. Here is a simple step-by-step overview. You can also review these steps in our demonstration video.

Step 1. Student Sign Up

Step 2. Find a Great Tutor

After signing up, you will be taken to the Find a Tutor page. Search any combination of grade level, subject and/or keywords.
Your search results will have filtering options to find the perfect tutor.
In your search results, click on any tutor’s View Profile link to open the tutor’s Profile page and learn more about his or her services, qualifications, availability and more.
If you have trouble picking just one tutor, try contacting a few different tutors by email or telephone. Talking to a number of tutors is a great way to ensure that you make the right choice.

Step 3. Scheduling and Starting a Tutoring Session

Once you pick a tutor, all the steps necessary to arrange and start a tutoring session are listed on the left side of the tutor’s Profile page when you are signed-in. A tutor's Profile page is where you should go for all interactions with the tutor.
First click Bookmark so that you can easily return to that tutor's Profile page from your My Tutors menu at the top of any WeTutor page.
Then contact your tutor to arrange a tutoring session. You can contact the tutor by email or, if the tutor is online, using our live chat tool. The tutor may also have listed a phone number or instant messaging usernames.
When you and the tutor have arranged a time, agreed upon a price and are ready to start a tutoring session, click the Request Session button.
The tutor will then ask you to confirm the price of your session. If the fee is correct, click Start Session. This will start the session timer and open WeTutor’s Virtual Classroom.

Step 4. Paying for Your Session

At the end of your session, the Tutoring Session area on your tutor’s Profile page will display a Complete Purchase button. Click that button to open a secure payment page where you can use a credit card or other options.
You will also see other options for paying later, changing the fee, or filing a complaint. If you decide to pay later, you can sign out and return to the tutor’s Profile page within five days to complete your payment. But remember, you cannot have another session with the same tutor until you have paid. If you're not satisfied with your tutoring session, you should contact your tutor and attempt to resolve any issues. If you and your tutor cannot reach an amicable resolution, you can file a complaint with WeTutor, and, if we agree with you, we'll fully waive your purchase.
